Born in Roanoke, Virginia, Mark was saved and called to the ministry during his teen years with a great burden to reach children and teenagers with the gospel. He earned his B.S. in Business Management from North Carolina State University and an M.Div. degree with Christian Education emphasis from Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary, Wake Forest, North Carolina.
His ministry has included being on staff at several churches in North Carolina as youth and associate pastor. He was called to Memorial in 2004 and as the Associate Pastor assists in all pastoral duties including teaching and preaching while leading the youth, music, and recreation ministries. His support group and assistants are known as "Mark's Angels" (his wife Julie and three daughters)
In 2018 Mark completed his Doctor of Education (Ed. D) also from Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary.
