We exist to display and point others to the supreme greatness of God revealed in Jesus. (Psalm 85:9; Matt. 5:16; 1 Cor. 6:19-20; 1 Peter 2:9)
We accomplish this task by dying daily to our sinful ways and growing daily to think, love, and work like Jesus more and more. (2 Cor. 3:18; Ephesians 4:15; Heb. 6:1-2; 1 Peter 2:2; 2 Peter 3:18)
This growth happens as we submit to the Holy Spirit's application of the Bible to our lives. (Acts 20:32; 2 Tim. 3:15-17; Heb. 4:12)This reliance on the Word of God occurs in the context of a faith family, in which the more mature "parent" disciples the newer believers until they can do the same. (John 17:21; Heb. 13:1; 1 John 1:3)
This congregation exists to worship the only and true God according to the Bible, and to "make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that Christ commanded you". (Matthew 28:19-20)
This Church is Christ ruled, pastoral team led, deacon served and congregational affirmed. In accordance with Ephesians 1:22 and 5:23, God placed all things under Christ and Christ is the head of the Church. We recognize and submit to his authority over this Church. As written in Ephesians 4 and Acts 14:23, Christ gave the church a plurality of leadership to equip it (apostles, prophets, evangelists, pastors and teachers). The leadership of this Church will be affirmed by the congregation as supported by the guidance in Acts 13B.
This Church is autonomous and maintains the right to govern its own affairs, independent of any denominational control. However, recognizing the benefits of cooperation with other bible-believing churches in fulfilling Matthew 28, this Church voluntarily affiliates with the Southern Baptist Convention in its national, state and local works.
